Lab Details
These are the lab activity options that are available for all groups (Boy/Girl Scout Troop options in next section):
- Astronaut Adventure - Learn about Newton's Laws of Motion and constellations. Launch a film canister rocket and create your own constellation.
- Natural Wonders - Learn about the geology behind volcanos and geysers. Make Lego volcanos, film canister geysers, and heat reactive lava slime.
- Slime & Glow Time - Learn about chemical bonds, quantum leaps, and non-Newtonian substances. Make holographic glitter slime, heat reactive slime, and glow in the dark fluffy slime.
- Under The Rainbow - Explore the colorful world we live in through rainbow light viewers, rainbow of slime, and chromatographic art.
These are the lab activity options that are available for Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops:
Cub Scouts - Sky is the Limit Elective
- Use the Starlight app to explore the night sky.
- Locate two constellations and find out how it got its name.
- Create and name your own constellation.
- Learn about two different jobs related to astronomy.
- Learn about two astronauts that were Scouts when they were younger.
- Create an “exploding” craft stick reaction.
- Explore simple machines.
- Construct a 6+ part Rube Goldberg–type machine, using at least two simple machines.
- NOTE: This one tends to run a little over an hour to complete.

- Learn about courage and strength from astronaut Mae Jemison.
- Launch film canister rockets.
Daisies - Gloria Petal
- Learn about respecting others and yourself.
- Make colorful bath bombs.
- Kitchen Scientists will test the acidity of different kinds of drinks
- Create Static Electricity using a Van De Graaff generator
- Dive Into Density with liquid rainbows
- Make Something Bubble Up using mini geysers
- Play With Science by making rainbow butter slime
